Elan founded Alpine in 1996. Through Alpine he subsequently founded, built and IPO’d multiple public technology and travel companies. He is a former Director of Great Wolf Resorts, Hotels.com, and Chairman/CEO of AudioNow Holdings his most recent tech exit. Elan is an entrepreneur, investor, and speaks 5 languages.

Marcel is a leading and recognized technologist in the field of AI, software engineering, and telecommunications. He is the recipient of multiple awards on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and learning agents for security and military applications. Marcel has a M.Sc. in Computer Science from George Mason University.

Mike Sands

Chief Investment Officer

Mike was most recently co-founder and CEO of Signal, an enterprise SaaS martech company. He was part of the original Orbitz management team and held the positions of CMO and COO. Mike took the business from start-up to IPO, and through two acquisitions (Cendant and Blackstone). He was a director of Angie's List & Youbet and a partner at PE firm The Pritzker Group.

Tom Isaacson

Chief IP Legal Counsel

Tom is an equity shareholder at Polsinelli P.C. He understands the intricacies associated with new technologies, and provides clients with effective patent management and protection. Tom focuses on patent and trademark prosecution and litigation, and serves a range of clients, including Fortune 100 companies to start-ups. He is the named inventor on 18 patents.

His sweet spot is the intersection of strategy, finance, and technology. His diverse career includes investment banking, corporate finance, corporate strategy, and strategy consulting. Adam has helped numerous senior management teams and boards of directors with their corporate growth strategies. Adam received an MBA from Yale, a Masters of Engineering from MIT and a BS from Virginia Tech.

Founded The Meltzer Group in 1982 as a single insurance agent and has since grown the company to one with over 200 dedicated employees across five divisions. Alan was inducted into the Washington Business Hall of Fame in 2011, the same year The Gazette newspapers named him one of the “25 CEOs You Need to Know.” As one of the top corporate philanthropists in the Washington metropolitan area, Alan has served on the Board of Directors for numerous organizations, including Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Wolf Trap Foundation, For Love of Children, United Jewish Endowment Fund, Junior Achievement, K. Neal International Trucks, Jewish Federation Executive Committee and the Washington Hospital Center Foundation.

Mr. Lombardo has served as the Chief Financial Officer of LTD Hospitality Group since January 2020. Previously, from 2017 to January 2020, Mr. Lombardo served as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Development for Two Bit Circus, Inc. Additionally, Mr Lombardo served in a number of positions with Great Wolf Resorts, Inc from 2004 to 2017, including Treasurer, SVP of Finance and SVP of Development. Mr. Lombardo served as VP of Finance for Interstate Hotels and Resorts, Inc, a public company,. from 1998 to 2004. Mr. Lombardo holds a B.B.A. degree from James Madison University. Mr. Lombardo has over 20 years of finance and development experience in the hospitality and entertainment industries having led capital markets, corporate finance, accounting, financial planning, investor relations, and treasury management.

Christian is an award-winning design leader in the restaurant and hospitality industry with a reputation for refined brand experiences. Working as the Director of Strategic Innovation for world-renowned architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, he developed his talent for innovation and collaboration amongst many leading companies including Philips, Hansgrohe, and Herman Miller. Having to lead the Products team at Rockwell Group, Christian Árkay-Leliever merged the power of craft, innovation and production techniques to develop award-winning experiences in products and environments. He has authored several patents and much of his work has been featured in shows and publications throughout the world. His exceptional touch can be experienced at some of the notable restaurants including the Rivermarket(Tarrytown, NY), Geronimo (Fairfield, CT), Bar Yoshi (Nantucket, MA) and the Eli's Tavern (Milford, CT).

Managing Director of technology, media & telecom (TMT) investment banking at Noble Financial Capital Markets. While on Wall Street, Mr. Ensley has participated in over $16B in transactions. Prior to Noble, Mr. Ensley was a banker at Coady Diemar Partners, a boutique investment bank in NYC, a Managing Director in equity research at Bear Stearns, a Vice President of equity research at Lazard and began his Wall Street career in equity research at Salomon. He received an MBA from Vanderbilt University and a BA from the College of William & Mary.

Dan O’Malley is currently President and Chief Operating Officer of Kynect and recently held the same position at Stream Energy which was sold for $300M to NRG on August 1, 2019. Over the course of 3 years, Dan was instrumental in redeveloping the business at Stream and introducing new digital products and services and expanding geographically to new markets. Separately, Dan is an innovator and well-known expert in Fintech and International Remittances. He was President and Executive Vice President of the Americas and Emerging Markets at MoneyGram International for 24 years before leaving the company in 2012. Dan has helped many companies determine their strategic direction and unlock value for stakeholders. Dan currently is an independent director on the board of two privately held financial services companies and participates at various levels with several start-up and mid-stage growth companies as an investor and advisor.

Dante Disparte is the Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Global Policy for Circle, a leading digital financial services firm building the most trusted treasury and payments infrastructure for the internet, including the fastest-growing dollar digital currency, USDC. Prior to joining Circle, Dante served as a founding executive of the Diem Association, leading public policy, communications, membership, and social impact. He previously served as deputy chair of the Libra project and head of policy. Dante comes to Circle with two decades of experience as an entrepreneur, business leader and global risk expert, most recently as founder and CEO of Risk Cooperative, a strategic risk advisory and insurance brokerage based in Washington, D.C. Dante also serves as an appointee on the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) National Advisory Council, the United States’ federal emergency response agency. He is also a member of the World Economic Forum’s Digital Currency Governance Consortium, helping drive global standards and regulatory harmonization for digital currencies. Dante is a frequent speaker and commentator on business and political issues shaping the world. His views on risk, economic competitiveness, and security issues are regularly featured in leading media and publications, such as Harvard Business Review, BBC, Forbes, and Diplomatic Courier, where Dante serves on the editorial advisory board. Fred is a Washington-based entrepreneur in the lodging and hospitality industry, CEO of Hospitality Benefits, and a Managing Partner of District Hospitality Partners. Prior to District, Fred was the CEO of TIG Global until its sale to Micros Systems, the largest technology provider in the hospitality and restaurant space. He was the co-founder and director of Hubs1, a China-based hotel reservation system. Fred served in the military in the US Navy Special Forces, holds a BS from the US Naval Academy and an MBA from the Wharton School at U Penn.

Hasan has been a senior executive in the telecom industry-leading strategy, product development, pricing, data, and operations management for more than two decades. In the past 15 years, he's held a senior position at Verizon, Verizon Wireless in the US, and Rogers Communications in Canada. Prior to that, he had management positions at KPMG and MCI. He is currently the CEO of HDBUILDS, an innovative real estate development company that uniquely combines a scientific approach to identifying properties suitable for rehabilitation in Washington, DC. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia's Darden School of Management with an MS in Strategy and Finance and its Engineering School with an MS in Electrical Engineering, and the University of Notre Dame where he earned his BS in Electrical Engineering.

Chief Executive Officer at Auto Europe, LLC, the world’s largest international car rental provider. Mr. Khalidi served as President of Auto Europe, LLC since 1992. Mr. Khalidi served as an International Travel Trade Manager and an International Licensee Manager with Europcar International S.A. from 1983 to 1990 and a Director of Thomas Cook North America (formerly Travel Services International Inc.) since July 1997. He has been recognized as one of the most important executives in the travel industry.

Jan is the CEO and founder of Datatility, a leading provider of cloud-based computing in the Washington area. An experienced entrepreneur, Jan has founded, grown, managed and transitioned businesses in diverse verticals. He was President of HRE Inc., a commercial mechanical services contractor in Washington D.C.through its sale to an NYSE company, and an investment banker at the McLean Group, focusing on mergers, acquisitions, and capital formation. In 2000, he was a founding partner and CEO of Zenetex, a leading federal government logistics and IT contractor. Jan was a co-founder of Marlin Financial Services in the UK which was sold to Duke Street Capital, a leading UK private equity firm.

Jeffrey Pollack is President and Chief Operating Officer of the XFL. A sports industry veteran and Emmy-Award winner, he began his career in sports in 1994 when he created and launched The Sports Business Daily – the original trade publication for the sports industry. Under his leadership as founding President and Publisher, The Daily became a must-read for sports executives and gave rise to a proliferation of sports business information products and services. In the decades since, Jeffrey has served as an executive, advisor and change agent for the National Basketball Association, NASCAR, the World Series of Poker, Caesars Entertainment, the Professional Bull Riders, Federated Sports + Gaming, the Memphis Grizzlies, the Arizona Coyotes, and the Los Angeles Chargers.

He is a revenue-focused media professional with over 20 years of experience building profitable brands across digital, television, radio, and social media. He is a proven strategic thinker in all matters related to digital brand development and marketing.

JONATHAN AKERS

Jonathan Akers is the founder and former CEO of Lithium Cycles, an Orange County, California-based e-bike manufacturer which produces and distributes electric bicycles globally. At Lithium Cycles, he led the company to design its first iteration of award-winning electric bicycles before exiting. Jonathan has designed and developed over two dozens products ranging from B2B software to consumer electronics and raised over $1 million in funding on crowdfunding platforms including Kickstarter. He has degrees in Finance and in Engineering from Lehigh University where he served as faculty in the Mechanical Engineering Department teaching Integrated Product Development before relocating to D.C. Jon Akers currently works with a number of early-stage startups in the D.C. area.

President of FreeConferenceCall.com, responsible for the overall business strategy including all retail and wholesale operations, global expansion strategy, sales and marketing and business development. Josh has been instrumental in helping FreeConferenceCall.com grow exponentially across 70 markets on five continents, connecting more than 40 million callers each month. The company is the most recognized retail brand of conferencing and collaboration services on the planet. He currently serves on the advisory board of directors at Children Today, and was a candidate for the California state legislature in the 2018 election cycle. Josh lives in Huntington Beach and is the father of three daughters.

Former CEO of Great Wolf Resorts, Kim has 18+years of real estate entertainment experience as CEO of Great Wolf Lodge growing it from one cabin to a 15-mega indoor waterpark resorts. Schaefer also played an integral role in the company’s transition from a public company to a private one. She serves on the board of EdR (NYSE:EDR)  a leader in the ownership, development and management of quality collegiate housing, A CPA by education, Kim started in the lodging industry as controller for a hotel in Madison, Wisconsin and eventually found her way to Great Wolf Lodge. She is a graduate of Edgewood College.

Prior to joining WeatherBug, Mike was the Global Director of App Advertising at AOL/Verizon/Oath and managed their mobile programmatic demand business and was responsible for Verizon mobile app distribution partnerships. Mike earned a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University.

Mike manages the day-to-day operations of the PeaceTech Accelerator in Washington, D.C. and oversees C5 Accelerate’s domestic investment portfolio. Prior to joining C5, Mike was Director of the MACH37 Cyber Accelerator and was on the Investment Team at CIT GAP Funds, a non-profit venture capital fund in Herndon, VA. While at CIT, Mike helped launch the EMERGE Accelerator on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) and Smart City Works, an accelerator for early-stage startups developing technology for the built environment. Wayne specializes in international, export control and economic sanctions law. and has advised clients on institutional integrity investigations conducted by the World Bank. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, he served as District Attorney for Iowa County for three years, was appointed counsel to the Asian Development Bank in Manila, The Philippines and has practiced in Washington, DC since 1980.

William, 'Bill', Alsup is the Senior Managing Director and Founding Partner of the Hines Washington office. He was the senior officer responsible for the development of City Center, the 1.5 million square feet mixed-use project in the heart of Washington, DC. He has served in a leadership role in the DC Building Industry Association as its president and is a member of the Boards of Directors of the DC Chamber of Commerce, DC Public Library Foundation and the DC Policy Center. He is a recipient of the Urban Land Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award for development and leadership in the Washington, DC area.
